Santa Cruz County Continuing Education (SCCCE) provides comprehensive literacy services to learners 16 years of age and older, not enrolled in a K-12 school. Under the direction of the Arizona Department of Education/Adult Education Services (ADE/ASE), SCCCE has integrated the states content standards for all programs funded by ADE/ASE, Instruction includes:
- Adult Basic Education – for learners who need to improve basic reading, writing and mathematics.
- Adult Secondary Education and GED Test Preparation – provides instruction in the five content areas of the GED test: Language Arts; Reading and Writing; Social Studies; and Mathematics.
- English language Acquisition for Adults – Is for people who want to learn the English language
- Adult Education and GED preparation classroom instruction for those who need and/or want a teacher.
- Computer based GED program for independent learning with the help of a facilitator.
- Distance Learning on-line GED preparation, independent study; in partnership with Cochise College.
- Pre-GED assessments will recommend learners readiness for taking the official GED test.
Classes Tailored
- Instructional classes are offered during the fall and spring semesters, Monday thru Thursday 8:00am – 12 noon, and again 6:00-8:00 pm.
- There is not a cost to the learner.

Individual Tutoring
- Individual tutoring is available upon request.
Pre & Post Testing
The GED Test can only be administered by an official at one of over 30 approved testing centers throughout Arizona. Cochise College located at 21 E Court St., Nogales, AZ 85621, and phone: 520-287-5583 is the only Arizona Department of Education/Adult Education Services authorized testing center in Santa Cruz County.
